Book 'Em North Carolina Writers Conference and Book Fair brought together more than 85 authors and publishers, including bestselling author Terri Reid and Emmy-winning journalist and novelist Terry Irving, and dozens of award-winning authors of almost every genre for all ages under one roof to sell and sign their books, participate in panel discussions and talks, network and interact with fans one-on-one.

Terry Irving is the winner of four National Emmy Awards, multiple Peabody, DuPont and Telly Awards and was honored at the Columbus Film Festival. He began a career in broadcast journalism in 1973 carrying news film regarding the Watergate investigation and has since covered stories around the world, including the fall of the Berlin Wall and Tiananmen Square. He has written and edited copy for some of the most iconic names in the industry, including Aaron Brown, Wolf Blitzer, Ted Koppel and Diane Sawyer.

He is an active member of the International Thriller Writers and the Mystery Writers of America and serves on the Board of the Foundation for Moral Courage.

He is the author of the on-going series On the Road and the self-help book, The Unemployed Guy's Guide to Unemployment. His debut thriller Courier takes place amid the scandal and drama of Watergate when a motorcycle courier unsuspectingly picks up a roll of news film and after the news correspondent and crew are killed, discovers he is next on the killer's list. Courier has garnered praise from Erik Sorenson, Aaron Brown, Ted Koppel, Sam Donaldson and others. Terry's resume reel appears below.

 

Terri Reid represents a new generation of bestselling authors who have gone the Indie route to great success. She is the creator of the bestselling Mary O’Reilly Paranormal Mysteries.  The first book in the series, Loose Ends – A Mary O’Reilly Paranormal Mystery, was released in August 2010 and by the end of 2012, Loose Ends had sold over 150,000 copies. She has eleven other books in the Mary O’Reilly Series and has enjoyed Best-Seller, Top Rated and Hot New Release status for all of them in the Mystery, Paranormal Romance, Horror, Cozy, or Women Sleuths categories. Her books have been translated into Spanish and Portuguese and are also now also available in audio versions. 

Reid has been quoted in a number of books about the self-publishing industry including Let’s Get Digital by David Gaughran and Interviews with Indie Authors: Top Tips from Successful Self-Published Authors by Claire and Tim Ridgway. She was honored to have some of her works included in A. J. Abbiati’s book The NORTAV Method for Writers – The Secrets to Constructing Prose Like the Pros.

Reid is from Northwest Illinois, near the town of Freeport, the home of her fictional characters.  Her background is in marketing and public relations.  She is married, the mother of seven children and the grandmother of fourteen. Her constant writing companions are Riley, a Bernese Mountain Dog-Golden Retriever mix; Hans, a German Shepard mix; Brodie, a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy; and McDuff, a Siamese cat.
